How did the Jungle affect the way Americans thought about the ways meat was produced?

1.  I think the jungle explained the sickening conditions of the meatpacking industry..
2.  It also explained the meatpacking industry and that it was a very bad environment..
3.  Not only was the meatpacking industry an unhealthy environment they provided bad meat as well..
4.  And it took forever for the meat to be clean, and fresh..

I think Upton Synclair was a progessive because he was a man who came up with a big idea that became beneficial by creating something called the "Jungle" which explained everything about the meat conditions and how rotten the meat was and how it made alot of people sick.Upton Synclair was a muckracking jounalist was easy for him to bring out the truth.
