The 2 positive things were that the subjects such as cooking and social eitquette were included into the cirriculum to help the newcomers learn new ways of being Native-Born Americans. And that many immigrants did not wish to abandon thier traditions. And the 2 negative things were that when people tried to speak their own language and practice their customs and religion the neighborhoods became overcrowded. And the other negative thing was that the arrival of new transplants from america's rural areas became intensified.
