"The U.S After WW1 Pt 2"

1. What was the quota system? A system, originally determined by legislation in 1921? of limiting by nationality the number of immigrants who may enter the U.S. each year.


2. Was the quota system discriminatory? if yes, to whom? yes to the protected groups and the one who had employment practices.


3. How was Mexico affected by the quota system? Because the limited number of immigrants that could be admitted from any country was 2 %.

4. How was Japan affected by the quota system? the quota system started allowing more people from other european backgrounds to emigrate the U.S.

Life of mexicans and blacks in the 1800 and 1900's

How was life for Mexicans in the late 1800's? Mexicans were popular when it came to being hired to construct rail lines in the Southwest. Most of the mexicans were accustomed to the hot and dry climate. and had to get used to being forced into Debt Peonage.





What was life like for African Americans in the 1900's? It was very rough many blacks migrated to Northern cities in search for better paying jobs and social equality. Most blacks found themselves forced into segregated neighborhoods. And they also faced discrimination in their working places.

"teddy roosevelt's presidency"

1. Describe Teddy Roosevelts life before he became president? ( where he's from , date he was born, something interesting about his life.)  Before he became president he held offices at the city, state and federal laws. Roosevelt was a natural explorer and hunter and author. He was even a soldier. He was born into a wealthy family in New York City. He was born with asthma and stayed home studying Natural History. He was born October 27th, 1858.

2. How did Teddy Roosevelt become president? Teddy Roosevelt was elected president in 1901 when the current president William Mckinley was shot dead in 1900.

3. What was Teddy Roosevelt's "bully pulpit?' Teddy Roosevelts "BULLY PULPIT" was a way to refer the white house as a terrific platform to advocate a platform.

4. Summarize Teddy Roosevelt's opinion on Civil Rights. He believed that everyone should be considered a college edaucation. And a higher paying profession.




5. Explain if you would like teddy Roosevelt as president today? He would be strange and very different because the world has changed. We would all be used to the things we see around us in the everyday world.
